On July 27th and 28th, 2016, Itoigawa Global Geopark will host the Geoparks Niigata International Forum in Niigata City, Japan. This forum is being held in order to share the activities of the three geoparks in Niigata Prefecture, including Itoigawa Global Geopark. The theme of the forum is Expanding Networks in East Asia and a number of keynote speeches and panel discussions are planned in order to bring regional geoparks and networks together in order to strengthen our connections within Eastern Asia.
