Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark and Henan Geological Museum of China Signed Agreement on Establishing Paleontology Scientific Investigation Base

On May 12th, Wangwushan-Daimeishan UNESCO Global Geopark Administrative Bureau and Henan Geological Museum signed an agreement on establishing paleontology scientific investigation base. Pu Hanyong, Curator of Henan Geological Museum and Xu Li, Vice Curator of Henan Geological Museum as well as Liu Xiaoling, Director of Wangwushan-Daimeishan UNESCO Global Geopark Administrative Bureau, attended the signing ceremony.

 

 

 

Jiyuan Basin located in Wangwushan-Daimeishan Geopark is a rare place composed of continuous Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary which holds diversified fossils buried in ideal conditions. The scientific value of Jiyuan’s fauna is a huge contribution to the world. The establishment of this base will unleash the scientific research and science popularization potential fossils, promote the conservation and utilization of the fossils. Both sides will push forward the publicity of paleontological culture as well as the research, development and promotion of related products.
