More chartered flights from Sweden, Norway and Denmark are expected to arrive in Langkawi soon following a successful campaign by the Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) last week.

Lada tourism manager Megat Shahrul Abas said that during the 10-day campaign in Oslo, Stockholm dan Copenhagen, the Scandinavian tour agents had promised to arrange the flights to bring their clients to this island resort.

The agents were drawn to Langkawi following its recognition as the world's 52nd geopark and the first in Southeast Asia, by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) in June, he told Bernama.
