On 12 November, Mt. Tai China announced that it and Mt. Fuji became friendly mountains.
Mt. Tai China, at an elevation of 1524 meters, was listed in world natural and cultural heritage by the United Nations in 1987 and joined the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) in 2006. Mt. Fuji with an elevation of 3776 meters, the highest mountain in Japan, is actively applying for a member of GGN.
