Huangshan Global Geopark Management Office entered into a contract of Action Plan for Joint Construction of Huangshan World Heritage - Global Geopark Protection & Education Base with the elementary school, Luo Village, Tanjiaqiao Town, Huangshan District in 2008 in order to earnestly strengthen the public awareness of Huangshan protection, conserve the geoheritage in Huangshan and lay the substantial foundation for joint conservation of resources in Huangshan. They, subsequently, held an official inauguration of the Huangshan World Heritage - Global Geopark Protection & Education Base. Furthermore, its Section of Planning and Land donated books and multimedia teaching tools to this elementary school.

The head of Section of Planning and Land, Cheng Shiwei, advanced some requirements on the conservation of resources in Huangshan. Firstly, good means of geo-conservation should be explored and created actively. Secondly, a number of vivid teaching materials should be offered to students to enhance their comprehensive attainments and cultivate their awareness of protection. Thirdly, the activity of “Small Hands in Big Hands” should be carried out thoroughly and continually, with the hope that students can influence their parents and families through their own words and deeds. Colorful activities should be organized as many as possible in such anniversaries as designation of Huangshan as a GGN member to promote Huangshan Geopark and disseminate the knowledge of natural and cultural heritage protection.
