A 20-member delegation of geoparks from Vietnam visited and explored the Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian and the Shidu Scenic Area following their arrival at the Fangshan Geopark in Beijing on November 4.
Leader of the delegation, Dr. Tran Tan Van, said although there had been no geopark as yet in Vietnam, the first geopark was under planning in the northern Vietnam. He continued that their visit was intended to learn the Fangshan Geopark’s experience in the way of the configuration and conservation of geoheritage resources as well as the development of local economy through establishment of the Geopark.
